Overview
Bancha (番茶) is a Japanese green tea harvested later in the season, typically from summer to autumn. The name means "ordinary tea" reflecting its status as an everyday, practical tea rather than a premium variety.
Despite being considered a lower grade than Sencha, Bancha has its own devoted following. It offers a milder, less bitter flavor and significantly lower caffeine content, making it suitable for evening consumption.

Production
